Once you have decided to adopt a puppy from MythNMagic Goldens, here is how the process works:
- Fill out our Puppy Application so that you can list all of your preferences and so we can get to know you better. This way we can make the best match for you and your future puppy. I will contact you once your application has been reviewed to let you know about future litters and/or current puppies available.
- Once you have decided to commit to a MythNMagic puppy, a 500.00 Waitlist Reservation is required through Interac e-transfer. In addition to the waitlist reservation, you will complete the Waitlist Reservation Agreement and return to us to sign so that we both have a copy for our records.
- Once pregnancy is confirmed, I will email out to our reservation list to let them know of the upcoming litter.
- We do ultrasound to confirm pregnancy
- We do pregnancy rads at 59 days to confirm puppy numbers
- When puppies are born, we will contact each family on our waitlist with pictures and details of the available puppies so that you can begin planning for your new arrival. We update both our website and social media with pictures of our puppies weekly (usually, sometimes life gets in the way and it may be less posting of the full litters and more group photos).
- Between 4-7 weeks, we do extensive personality testing. This assists us in matching up each puppy with the family based on their puppy application. Sometimes this process is simple and other times puppies are very similar and we need to take longer. When time allows, we will invite families to a “puppy party” to also meet the puppies and provide feedback on their preferences.
- At 8 weeks, puppies will go for a full physical exam, vaccination and microchip at our veterinarian office. We will then confirm puppy placements (if we haven’t already done so) for each family.
- Puppy go home dates will begin at 9 weeks of age. We will have health documents, pet insurance, and contracts all ready for you when you arrive at our home.
- Puppy will have a minimum of 3 deworming treatments; 8-week vaccinations; microchip; one month Trupanion Pet Insurance; Puppy Transition Kit (8kg bag of puppy kibble, toys, treats, blanket (new but we let the puppies and mama play with it so it smells like home), parasite protection (applied before departure); CKC registration papers (emailed 6 months of age). Everything for your new puppy to transition into their new family.
